One Hour Buns

One Hour Buns

2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup warm water
1 tablespoon fast rising instant yeast
1 egg
1/4 cup oil
1 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 cups flour -- (3 1/2 to 4)
(I used half whole wheat and half white flour)

In a bowl mix together sugar, yeast and water. Add egg, salt and oil and mix together well. Add about 2 cups of flour and beat well. Add more flour until dough comes away from the sides of the bowl. Knead until smooth and elastic about 10 minutes. Form into 16 little buns or 8 large and place into a greased pan. Let rise until doubled, about 1 hour. Bake at 350* for 15 minutes or until browned.
